Welcome

Happy New Year, hello and welcome. This first post will serve as an introduction to the launch of my new Website along with this new blog page. Here I will be showcasing my newest paintings along with a more focused and reorganized presentation of my work.

I have recently been working on a new series of urban landscapes, which for now is made up primarily of water towers and smokestacks. I have become specifically intrigued with water towers. They somehow ingrain themselves like punctuation marks onto the syntax of the skyline, but I see these studies leading me into a deeper examination of cityscape painting generally and its abstract elements specifically. I look forward to discussing this idea in future blogs. As a matter of fact, I will use this blog page to discuss all my work in greater detail as an effort to provide a better understanding of my aspirations and inspirations. I will discuss the reasons behind my decisions in choosing certain subjects and their execution. I will profile a single painting, or a whole series, or make certain comparisons. I may even critique another artist’s exhibition I have recently visited. These discussions, along with the new formatting of my images, should help provide a more cohesive presentation of my work and will hopefully enhance your appreciation and enjoyment.

I am also being dragged kicking and screaming into the world of social media. Along with this blog I will be refreshing my Facebook page (after my purge of it this prior year) where I will be reaching out to old and new friends alike. I will post images when I have completed a new work, make alerts to any upcoming news, or notify of a new blog I have posted. I will also be opening an account on Instagram to share new works and ideas. These links will be posted below. Wow, look at me. I’m hash-tagging! Woohoo! Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

So please, look around, enjoy yourself and don’t be shy.
